Ormond Beach artist Perego
has applied his brush work for Disney projects and events, stage
sets for Black Entertainment Television and historic murals in
downtown DeLand.
But,
as befits a guy who has attended Burning Man, that annual desert
festival of outsider arts and thinking, Perego has a strong
avant-garde/surrealist/dada bent.
A
Perego exhibit, "The Best of the Organic Lightshow," will
be presented from 7 to 10 p.m. Sunday as part of the grand opening
of City Arts Gallery and Quanny Sake, 111 and 113 W. International
Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach.
Perego says the exhibit is "resurrecting the lost
psychedelic art of the liquid light shows of the '60s, combined
with projection and body-painting" while exploring "the
sensual and spiritual world."
Admission is free. Information: 386-258-6600.
