On Sunday evening, January 27th several members of the executive
committee of Volusia Tax Reform sat down with Gerry Kenney of the
Kenney Broadcast Network for a discussion on the property tax
reform ballot initiative that would be decided in the January 29th
Presidential Primary as Amendment One.
It turns out that the citizens approved the Amendment with over 60%
of the vote.
The concensus opinion of Volusia Tax Reform's Executive Board
was that Amendment One would not be sufficient reform to correct
the issues facing the Florida economy and that it may in fact
hamper future efforts to reform the system. Yet, we all
acknowledged that it is hard to blame anyone for voting in favor of
a personal tax reduction, even if it is at the expense of
others.
We are posting the archive of the Broadcast to allow our listeners
to go back and view these opinions for future reference...since
almost everyone agrees that even though the Amendment passed and is
now a part of the Florida Constitution, efforts to reform the
system must continue in order to create the changes necessary to
restore fairness to the tax system in this state.

Enjoy the Broadcast.
P.S. In the final 20 min segment of the show, I personally joined
the discussion and gave my personal opinions on Tax Reform and
refer to some of the comments that listeners of WakeUpDaytona! have
shared with me both on and off the air...thanks for being part of
our "Crack Research Team".
